Raman Spectroscopy Instrumentation

Tornado Spectral Systems’ HyperFlux™ PRO Plus is a complete Raman spectroscopy instrumentation system including a proprietary HTVS-enabled spectrometer, a high-quality stabilized laser, multiple laser safety interlocks, temperature monitoring and dynamic re-calibration, and automated system health monitoring and fault detection. This powerful, reliable, and easy-to-use instrument is contained in a small, lightweight, cost-effective package which is readily deployed in both in-line process and laboratory settings.

Tornado’s proprietary HTVS™ design eliminates spectrometer slit losses while maintaining high spectral resolution. This allows for the best possible combinations of signal strength and spectral resolution in a dispersive spectrometer and results in an order of magnitude improvement in sensitivity.

Tornado’s HyperFlux™ PRO Plus can be used in conjunction with the Hudson Bioreactor Raman Immersible Probe. It capitalizes on the power of Raman in bioprocess manufacturing by measuring multiple, specific components in real-time for continuous, around-the-clock process feedback. Its optical design is optimized for compatibility with Tornado’s Process Guardian and HyperFlux™ PRO Plus Raman analyzers and can be used for the superior representative sampling and measurement reproducibility for liquids, solids, slurries, powders, and heterogeneous mixtures. The Hudson Bioreactor Raman Immersion Probe can collect high-quality data on either flowing or stationary samples and allows users to optimize accuracy, quality, and yield over a wide range of biological processes.

raman spectroscopy instrumentation hyperflux
Higher Raman Sensitivity Than Ever Before Possible

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful analytical technique, but Raman systems have traditionally been limited by a lack of sensitivity due to the input slit trade-off between resolution and throughput. What is unique about our technology is that the HyperFlux™ PRO Plus uses a proprietary HTVS™ -enabled spectrometer to deliver better Raman sensitivity than ever before possible, designed to provide users with faster measurements (10x to 30x) for better process responsivity, better sensitivity for lower detection limits, and permitting reduction of the laser power without sacrificing performance. When compared to other ramen spectroscopy systems, our spectrometers are designed to provide 10X photon throughput.

Combined with their small size and low cost, Tornado’s nondestructive, real-time measurement solutions offer numerous benefits for established analytical practice and facilitate broader adoption of Raman methods for pharmaceutical, petrochemical, food, biotech, and other applications.

Features

  • Raman measuring principle
  • Embedded 785 nm laser
  • Raman spectral range covers 99% of industrial chemicals
  • Dual fiber optic connectors for remote measurements up to 100 meters away
  • More accurate identification and quantification for challenging mixtures and low concentration levels

raman spectroscopy instrumentation process guardian tornado
High-resolution standalone analyzer for real-time process measurements and control

The Process Guardian is a new piece of Raman spectroscopy instrumentation from Tornado. In addition to superior measurement performance, this next generation HTVS-enabled analyzer embodies all critical requirements for straightforward deployment into a process environment. Uncompromised measurements you can trust are now available from a ruggedized standalone platform.

The Process Guardian’s analytical performance is turbocharged by Tornado’s patented High Throughput Virtual Slit (HTVS™) technology. With enhanced photon collection power, higher SNR can be achieved leading to lower limits of detection without compromising spectral resolution. High precision on both the X and Y axes makes even the toughest chemometric modelling tasks achievable.

The high-quality data delivered by the Process Guardian can provide process information related to qualitative or quantitative chemical characterization with unsurpassed detection limits and specificity. This technological advantage delivers enhanced process understanding, which in turn leads to improved and optimized process control.

The Process Guardian offers numerous benefits for established analytical practice and facilitates broader adoption of Raman methods for pharmaceutical, petrochemical, food, biotech, and other applications.
